Ayer surgió el rumor de que podría empezarse a crear una nueva película basada en la saga de Resident Evil y que llegaría a los cines en Septiembre del 2010. No obstante ahora parece que este rumor se transforma en noticia, pues Milla Jovovich así lo confirmó en una entrevista concedida a unos paparazzi. Dijo que a finales de año empezaría a rodar una nueva película, en concreto una cuarta parte, y como esta chica no ha rodado más trilogías que la de Resident Evil creo que la cosa está clara.
El film podría tener el nombre de Resident Evil: Afterlife (rumor, por ahora), su guión estará a cargo de Paul W.S Anderson (Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator, Horizonte Final) y lo más probable es que Milla sea la protagonista. Resulta evidente que las adaptaciones cinematográficas de este popular juego funcionan en taquilla, y aunque la calidad no sea para tirar cohetes lo cierto es que son mejores que muchos otros films basados en videojuegos.
